Human Resources, Key People
04/29/25
At ORINOX, we all agree on one thing: it’s people who are the company’s greatest asset.
Since joining ORINOX, Violette has played a key role in helping the company to develop… by encouraging employees to progress: integration, skills development, quality of life at work, support for teams and managers.
With her energy, her ability to listen and her ability to switch between projects, Violette contributes every day to making our working environment a place where we feel valued and respected, and where everyone can find their place.
This month, we wanted to tell you a little more about who’s behind this role, which is as strategic as it is human.
Tell us how you came to work for ORINOX?
I graduated with a master’s degree in human resources management on a sandwich course. At the end of my apprenticeship contract, my employer CPO, which is a subsidiary of the company TOTAL, offered me a fixed-term contract, which I accepted. Although I wasn’t planning to stay with the company for the long term, it gave me the peace of mind I needed to look for a new professional adventure.
I was looking for a versatile job with a challenge, but above all a dynamic company. d
I came across the vacancy for an HR Assistant at ORINOX, applied and was invited for an interview. I was a bit nervous, but I met some very friendly people. Furthermore, I was interviewed by Maxime and Stéphanie Fourreau. It was a good idea to bring examples of reporting that I had created for my work-study placement. Maxime was quick to identify that I was interested in dashboards, information systems and so on. I think that’s what made the difference.
Can you describe how your integration went?
My integration went very well, and the people of Châteaubriant are as welcoming as all of our Orinoxians. The HR challenge was both real and urgent. I started at ORINOX on the 2nd of November 2018, which was a Friday, so there weren’t many people around that day, but it was good to get my bearings.
I was then immediately immersed in the work. It was just what I needed.
What are you currently working on?
As HR Manager for the Group, I provide day-to-day support to our managers in overseeing their teams. My areas of expertise are career management, training and remuneration. I coordinate internal communications and our social networks.
Through these various actions, I address the challenges of fostering the loyalty of our teams.
The subjects dealt with at the start of the year are the Economic and Social Data Base (BDES), the consultation of the Works Council and the analysis of the social barometer. These subjects which are now completed, are less operational, but they are essential for understanding ORINOX’s social context and defining the actions to be taken in the short and medium term.
It’s also a way of measuring the impact of actions taken over the past year.
The project currently underway is our popular JAO (Journée Annuelle ORINOX) 2025. With a committed team of people working on this project, we’re aiming to come up with a new format for the JAO that will be as exciting for our employees as it is for us. We also have projects around professional equality that are close to my heart.
What are your career prospects?
In the 6 years I’ve been with ORINOX, I’ve already progressed a lot. I took on responsibilities as HR Manager for the ORINOX Group. Today, the prospects for internal development are more cross-functional, with responsibilities in other areas such as recruitment, CSR, social dialogue, etc. But I still feel that I’m a long way from mastering all the aspects of my job, so we will see what happens depending on the opportunities and needs of the Group.
What do you enjoy most about ORINOX?
The challenges! I don’t know much about routine, and I don’t think I’ve ever been bored in 6 years.
Our business sector, our careers, our desire to bring expertise, quality and digitalisation to the industry are very rewarding and a source of pride on a daily basis.
The bonus: positive colleagues and employees. At ORINOX, we know how to be serious without taking ourselves too seriously !
Do you have any ideas for improving the company?
In all transparency, this is one of my 2025 objectives: to continue to be innovative and to propose projects and actions that contribute to building employee loyalty.
Can you describe a typical day for you?
I like to arrive early, although some mornings can be a bit tricky. I start by saying good morning to everyone, then I turn on my computer and grab myself a big mug of tea.
I try to respond to requests from my team, colleagues, managers and employees. I dedicate time to background work and ongoing projects.
At least once a month I meet with each manager to go through the management routine. This is a time devoted to sharing operational information about the team, identifying needs and risks and taking appropriate action.
What do ORINOX’s values mean to you, and how do you implement them on a daily basis?
The values of Fun, Innovation and Responsibility are an essential part of my job.
I have to make sure that the employees – and myself – enjoy our work and our missions at ORINOX. I make sure that ORINOX is innovative and socially responsible. Every year we offer at least one webinar on a social and/or responsible topic. For example, this year we’re giving access, on request, to an online awareness-raising session focusing on road safety. A more technical Webinar is also in preparation.
What do you particularly like about working for ORINOX?
The trust I’m given, the work I’m asked to do and the recognition my employer gives me.
What is the personal achievement at ORINOX that makes you most proud?
My development! I’m proud of what I achieve every day. I’ll be even prouder when we achieve all our objectives from an HR point of view. I’m confident about it!
